Ice Cream Social
Each year, the PTA hosts an Ice Cream Social the week prior to the beginning of the new school year. This event allows students and their families to reconnect with ISE families, meet their teacher(s) for the upcoming school year, as well as see the new class lists. The ice cream social is also a great way to begin the transition from summer break to back-to-school!
Open House/Curriculum Night (+)
On this night, families are invited to attend sessions with their child(ren)’s teacher(s) to hear information regarding class curriculum and expectations, explore their child’s classroom, and see current school work on display. 5th Grade families traditionally run a bake sale during the event to kick off their year-long fundraising for camp.
Whetstone High School Homecoming Parade
Indian Springs Elementary students and their families are invited to participate in Whetstone HS’s homecoming parade along with other feeder schools and show school spirit with ISE Spirit Wear and/or posters.
Fall Clean Up/Spring Spruce Up +
Twice a year ISE parents come together to beautify ISE property.
Spirit Week *
This fun week encourages students to show school spirit through daily participation in silly hair, costumes and other themed ideas.
Pancake Breakfast & Craft Bazaar +
This family friendly PTA sponsored event is a favorite. Enjoy a breakfast of pancakes, sausage, fruit and juice and then meander the hallways filled with craft vendors.
Veteran’s Day Program *
Giving Tree *
This student council sponsored event is a great way for students to consider and care for others in a practical way, as they are encouraged to donate food, hats and gloves to those in need of these items.
Holiday Gift Shop *+
Students have the opportunity to purchase gifts for their family members at this in school shop.
Read-a-thon +
This PTA sponsored event encourages students to read, read, read! Students find sponsors and spend 2 weeks recording their reading minutes to raise funds for the school and earn fun prizes.
“Souper Bowl” *
This student council sponsored canned food drive supports the Clintonville Resource Center.
Red Ribbon Week *
Drug awareness week involves themed activities and an essay contest, encouraging students to commit to drug free living.
COSI on Wheels *+
This traveling outreach program of COSI Columbus engages students with a dynamic opening assembly followed by fun, hands-on science activities.
Black History Program *
Student performances include songs, skits, dances, poems and other written word during this all school assembly in February.
Spaghetti Dinner +
This PTA sponsored event is hosted by the men of ISE, and is a family favorite! Enjoy a delicious meal and activities for the kids.
JA BizTown *+
Students in 4th & 5th grade have the opportunity to participate in this hands on experience. The JA BizTown program provides students with a realistic opportunity to experience how basic economic concepts are applied in the real world. By participating in JA BizTown, young students experience the responsibilities and opportunities of citizenship in a free enterprise system.
4th & 5th Grade Camp +
Fourth and fifth grade ISE students have the opportunity to attend a 3-day wilderness camp. PTA assists in the cost for this activity, and fundraisers are held prior to in efforts to defray the cost for campers.
Clintonville 5K +
This annual event involves all of the Clintonville feeder schools and takes place at Whetstone HS. A 1-mile run for children, followed by a 5K run. Various community vendors are on-site. All proceeds benefit Clintonville public schools.
Family STEAM Night +
This interactive night of family fun and learning allows students to see science, technology, engineering, art and math in everyday life as community members engage student in hand-on experiences. All activities are free, and food trucks are available for purchase.
Apple Week *+
This PTA sponsored Teacher Appreciation Week is a great way for families to show the ISE staff how much we appreciate their hard work and dedication to our students.
Momentum Performance
After preparing all year, 4th grade students have the opportunity to perform live in Momentum's end of the year show at the Davidson Theatre (downtown). Admission to this event is free.
Falcon Fest +
This long standing ISE carnival tradition is a fun-filled way to end the school year! Food, cotton candy, inflatables, games, cake walks, face painting and much more.
Field Day *+
Students enjoy half of a day of games and inflatables on the ISE field.
5th Grade Graduation *
Students are honored for all of their hard work throughout elementary school.
