A Message from the Superintendent: Special Holiday Message
Dear Columbus City Schools Families and Staff,
As we embrace the spirit of the holiday season, I extend warm wishes to each incredible community member—our dedicated staff, esteemed educators, families, and talented students.
I want to express my profound gratitude to our devoted staff members. Your consistent commitment to the success and well-being of our students is truly inspiring. Throughout this year, your dedication has further solidified our bond as a community. Your positive attitude, compassionate approach, and tireless efforts have not gone unnoticed. I am continually uplifted by your remarkable impact within our schools, creating an environment where our students thrive and succeed.
To our exceptional students, your enthusiasm, creativity, and determination brighten our hallways every day. Your willingness to learn, grow, and contribute to our community is what makes Columbus City Schools such a special place. As we enter this holiday season, take a moment to reflect on your accomplishments and the incredible potential that lies ahead.
To our CCS families, your support and partnership are invaluable. Thank you for entrusting us with the education and well-being of your children. Your involvement enriches our community and contributes to the success of every student. We appreciate your collaboration in fostering a positive learning environment.
In celebration of the holidays, please be informed that classes will be out for winter break from December 20, 2023, until January 2, 2024, with all students reporting back to school on January 3. This break provides a well-deserved opportunity for rest and rejuvenation, allowing us all to return in the New Year refreshed and ready to tackle new adventures.
As we bid farewell to the current year, let us remember the importance of kindness, empathy, and understanding. The holiday season allows us to connect with loved ones, appreciate moments of joy, and extend a helping hand to those in need. Let us foster a culture of support, inclusivity, and respect.
We are looking ahead to 2024. As we return to school, we will continue ensuring our students are Portrait of a Graduate ready. Being portrait ready means we continually provide our students with the skills, mindsets, and experiences necessary to embody adaptability, communication, creativity, critical thinking, global empathy, and technology proficiency. Together, we will embark on a journey to cultivate well-rounded individuals equipped to thrive in the complexities of our ever-evolving world.
May the holiday season bring you warmth, joy, and peace. Whether spending time with family and friends or taking a well-deserved break, I hope you find moments of solace and relaxation.
Thank you for your dedication and hard work throughout the year. I wish you a festive holiday season, a joyful winter break, and a Happy New Year with new opportunities and successes. See you in 2024!
Sincerely,
Dr. Angela Chapman
