Events at Indian Springs Elementary
(Events are listed as they typically happen chronologically through the school year.)
Ice Cream Social +
Each year, the PTA hosts an ice cream social the week prior to the beginning of the new school year. This event allows students and their families to reconnect with ISE families, meet their teacher(s) for the upcoming school year, as well as see the new class lists. The ice cream social is also a great way to begin the transition from summer break to back-to-school!
Open House/Curriculum Night
On this night, families are invited to attend sessions with their child(ren)’s teacher(s) to hear information and ask questions regarding class curriculum and expectations. Families also have the opportunity to explore the rest of the school building, unified arts rooms, and see current school work on display.
Whetstone High School Homecoming Parade +
Each year, Indian Springs Elementary students and their families are invited to participate in Whetstone HS’s homecoming parade and show school spirit with ISE Spirit Wear and/or posters. This parade is less than one mile long, and can accommodate strollers, scooters, bikes and wagons.
Fall Clean Up/Spring Spruce Up +
Twice a year, parents, staff, and students come together to beautify the grounds of ISE.
Family Movie Nights
Twice a year, PTA sets up an inflatable screen behind ISE and shows a movie for families and the community to come enjoy. The event is free, and families have the option to purchase snacks and drinks from the PTA-run concession stand.
Literacy Night +
The staff and our Family Ambassador organize a night of literacy-enrichment activities and games that will engage students of all ages. With book give-aways and raffle basket prizes, this event is fun for the whole family. All activities are free, and food trucks are on site for anyone wanting to purchase dinner.
Spirit Week *
At multiple points throughout the year there is a Spirit Week. This fun week encourages students to show school spirit through daily participation in various themes such as sporting a silly hairdo, or wearing mismatched outfits, pajamas, or hats.
Pancake Breakfast & Craft Bazaar +
This PTA-sponsored event is a family and community favorite. Enjoy a breakfast of pancakes, sausage, fruit and juice in the cafeteria, then meander the hallways for some holiday shopping! Student vendors as well as community vendors have tables lining the halls with art, crafts, baked goods and more for sale!
Soup-er Bowl of Caring*
This VOICES sponsored event is a great way for students to consider and care for others in a practical way, as they are encouraged to bring in cans of soup and other canned goods to be donated to the CRC (Clintonville Community Resource Center) for those in need.
Read-a-thon +
This PTA sponsored event encourages students to read, read, read! Students find sponsors and spend 2 weeks recording their reading minutes to raise funds for the school and earn fun prizes.
Arts Night +
The Unified Arts staff and our Family Ambassador organize a night of instrumental/choral performances, art exhibitions, and relay games and exercises for families to check out. All activities are free, and food trucks are on site for anyone wanting to purchase dinner.
Spaghetti Dinner +
This PTA sponsored event is traditionally hosted by the men of ISE, and is another family favorite! Enjoy a delicious Italian meal and stick around for fun pasta-themed activities for the kids.
5th Grade Camp +
Fifth grade ISE students have the opportunity to attend a 3-day wilderness camp. PTA assists in the cost of this activity, and fundraisers are held throughout the year to help lower the fee for campers.
