South High School

6/25/2024 Eight Cadets from South High School travelled to Peninsula, OH June 10-14 for the JROTC Cadet Leadership Challenge. The Cadets were put through a series of leadership, physical, and mental tasks throughout the week. Congratulations to Cadet Trinity Sullens who finished a razor thin second at the Cadet Leadership Board and Cadet Makalya Baker who was recognized as a Superior Cadet.

5/9/2024 Kentucky Exposition Center, Lousiville, KY....Great day for the Bulldog Battalion. Our Cadets finished the year strong to include a couple new program records.

5/8/2024 Upperclassman teaching LET 1 eighth grade class. 

4/20/2024  Some badly needed Bulldog Pride. Cadets doing some area cleanup. We are trying to instill some pride in our school. 

3/29/2024  This was just part of the Military Ball celebration. From left to right.. MSG Zumock, Cadet Crosby, LTC Allmon and CCS School Board President Christina Vera. While not pictured here a special thanks to MSG Buschur and the West HS Army JRTOC. We made history with a combined military ball. All in all, it was a great night of food, awards and dancing. 

3/9/2024 SGM Paul C Gray Drill Competition, Fort Knox, KY.  59 schools from five states compete in 14 different categories. The Bulldogs finished 3rd out of 29 teams in academics and 3rd out of 12 archery teams. Always improving. 

2/3/2024 Athens Community Center, Athens, Ohio.  Another weekend, another tournament for the Bulldog Battalion. Our Cadets are improving with every shot.

11/9/2023  Busy week for the Bulldog Battalion. Today a Cadet detail had the honor of posting the Colors at Shady Lane elementary school’s Verterans Day assembly. 

11/4/2023 Our 7th period class welcomed guest speakers on Friday. Lieutenants from the US Air Force spoke to Cadets about opportunities through Air Force ROTC and the Air Force Academy to become Air Force officers. 

11/1/2023  Bulldogs being educated. Mr. Fowkes' American Government class and Army JROTC traveled to Motts Military Museum for a history lesson you can't get in a book. Thank you Mr. Mott for the excellent tour 

10/22/2023 Senior Night. An all Senior Cadet color guard for their last home football game. They are accompanied by a 20 Cadet rifle detail...our largest to date. 

10/6/2023 On our way to March in The Ohio States University’s home coming parade . 

9/29/2023 Today our Battalion leadership did a staff ride to The Ohio State University and Army ROTC to see how Senior Army ROTC operates. 

9/11/2023, Cadets from the Bulldog Battalion participated in the Ohio State ROTC Memorial Climb at The Horse Shoe. Cadet Nick Sturtz was awarded a conditional 4-year Army ROTC scholarship to the college of his choice.

5/24/2024 The Bulldog BN had the pleasure to teach our Air Force brothers and sisters about 1 rope bridge. We got to have some Pizza and compare notes. Thank you Major Klepek and SMsgt Dedousis, Fort Hayes AF JROTC for having us. 

5/9/2024 National Tournament in Louisville, KY

5/4/2024 State House, Columbus, Ohio Our Cadets had the absolute honor to serve again as escorts for the Ohio Military Hall of Fame for Valor on Friday. Seventeen Ohioans were honored for their valorous acts while in service to our Nation. 

4/20/2024  Way to go Bulldogs. We competed at Maysville HS’s Archery tournament. South’s Cadets set some personal bests today. Congratulations to Trinity Sullens on her 50.

1/27/2024 North Adams High School, Seaman, Ohio Cadets traveled to the deep South of Ohio to compete today. 

1/6/2024 Drake County Fairgrounds, Greenville, Ohio.  Our Cadets did a great job today at the Tri-Village Archery Open International. A total of 13 Cadets competed in the event. 

11/10/2023  Our Cadets were honored to post colors for the Ohio Health Veterans Day celebration. Our all-female team had the chance to meet and speak with MG(R) Deborah Ashenhurst (Director, Ohio Department of Veterans Affairs) and Dr. Cherie Smith (OhioHealth CNO and VP Patient Care Services) 

11/8/2023  Our Cadet Command team had the honor of attending the Rock Ceremony at The Ohio State University today. We also ran into our former Cadet Battalion Commander Joel Moren who is in Army JROTC at OSU. 

10/22/2023  Our rifle detail salutes Seniors executing their last home football game color guard. A huge thanks to Cadets Ariel Buckingham, Lane Jennings, Madison Gillespie, Paige Pereira, and Queen Scott for your dedication to the Bulldog Battalion.
