    October 13, 2024

    Dear Parents/Guardians,

This is Paul Bailey, the proud Principal of Woodward Park calling with this week's announcements and highlights. We had a great week of learning last week and we have begun Mastery Academy at the Big Park on Thursdays and coming this Tuesday, we will have Mastery Academy for 6th graders on Tuesdays starting this Tuesday, October 15th from 2:30-4:30. There will be no Mastery Academy for 7th and 8th grade this Thursday as we will have Parent Teacher Conferences

This Thursday, October 17, 2024 will be Parent Teacher conferences at both Parks from 3:30-7 and next Tuesday, October 22, 2024 from 3:30-7. Parents you should have received an email 2 weeks ago to sign up for conferences. If you did not receive the email to select your date and time for a conference with your child’s teachers, please reach out to Mr. Bailey @ pbailey5748@columbus.k12.oh.us.  The last day in the 1st quarter is on Tuesday, October 22nd.

There will be no school for students on Friday, October 18, 2024 as all staff across the district will be involved in professional development activities. Also, there will be no school for students on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 as it is a records day for teachers to finalize quarter 1 grades.

Saturday school for 8th grade students who currently have a D or F in any class will be on Saturday, October 19th from 9-12. Our goal is for every 8th grade student matriculate to high school by the end of the year because they have earned the grades necessary to be promoted.

Our first quarter rewards party has been scheduled. In order for students to be eligible to attend the first quarter reward party students can not have any more than 2 discipline referrals and can not have ANY in or out of school suspensions beginning from Wednesday, September 11th – Tuesday, October 22nd, which is the last day of the first quarter.

Finally, parents, thank you as always for your support of our efforts to educate, elevate and motivate every child, every day. Thank you for supporting your child’s teachers by reinforcing academic and behavioral expectations of your student while they are here at school. Thank you for partnering with us so that together we can help our students realize their full potential. Thank you and have a great evening.

    Mr. Bailey
