    Whetstone Art and Graphics Teachers

    Jill Hurley

    Ms. Hurley is a graduate of Columbus College of Art & Design with a BFA and Otterbein University for her teaching certification. She also attended Rio Grande University to earn an MEd in the Arts. She taught with Columbus Parks and Recreation before coming to Columbus City Schools in 1999.  She has been at Whetstone since 2012 and teaches Visual Arts for 9th to 12th grade.  She teaches Art 1, II, III/IV, and V. Ms. Hurley oversees the Whetstone Art Club. She is a Columbus City Schools alumni and graduated from South High School.

    Deanna Moorer

     Mrs. Moorer attended The Ohio State University where she earned her Bachelor's of Art Education in 2010 and her Masters of Arts Education in 2017. She is licensed to teach Visual Arts, Pre-K to 12. She began teaching in 2011 and joined Whetstone in 2014. She teaches Art Survey 1, Sculpture and Ceramics and Multiple Disabilities art. She received a Dream Grant in 2015.

    Chris Murray

    Mr. Murray attended the College of Art and Design, where he earned a Bachelor's of Fine Art and The Ohio State University, where he earned a Masters of Art Education.  He is licensed to teach K-12 Visual Art. He began his career in 1993 and came to Whetstone in 2008. He teaches Computer Graphics and Photography. In his spare time he does mobile audio recording, mixing, and post-production.
