  • Braves headed to Volleyball City championship!
    The JV volleyball team defeated Centennial yesterday to earn their way in to the JV City Championship vs Eastmoor Academy on Saturday, October 12.  The JV match begins at 10:00am. 
    The varsity match, Whetstone vs Africentric will begin at the conclusion of the JV match.
    The championship will be played at Africentric.

  • Michael Newell-Dimoff's work will be published in the 2019 edition of Flip the Page, Central Ohio’s Teen Literary Journal. The student is in Mrs. Arnold's English class


    There were over 350 high-quality submissions from young Central Ohio writers, ages 13 to 19. Submissions were reviewed by a committee of teen writers and the editorial staff. Choosing the very best pieces was a challenging task, and competition was fierce. 


    Authors will be present at the Flip the Page readings the Columbus Arts Festival! Authors have the opportunity to read on Saturday, June 8th from 12:00 – 1:30 pm and Sunday, June 9th from 1:00 – 2:00 pm. They will perform on the “Word Is Art” Stage.

  • Dominic Sophomore Dominic Panzo joined thousands of students and educators from around the country to compete, showcase their business skills, and develop their leadership portfolio at the 2019 Business Professionals of America National Leadership Conference in sunny Anaheim, CA.


    Panzo competed in the Fundamentals of Spreadsheet Application; creating, formatting formulas etc. The conference prepares students for careers in business and information technology by giving students practical experience through application of the skills learned in their academic programs. Panzo is one of five students in the state to qualify for the National Leadership Conference Fundamentals of Spreadsheet competition.

  • Declan Congressional Arts Contest awards ceremony held last night at the Columbus Museum of Art. Congressman Troy Balderson from Ohio's 12th District (at the microphone) announced Declan (in the blue tie) as the third place winner in the Congressional Arts Contest.


    It was quite an honor for him as they had received hundreds of submissions of artwork from 20+ schools. Incidentally, his winning piece was the one that he was recognized nationally for earlier this year. 


    He has also been inducted into the National Technical Honor Society.

  • K-12 Summer Opportunities

    Join us for the K-12 Summer Opportunities & Engagement Fair on Saturday, March 2nd, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Columbus Metropolitan Library’s Main Branch, 96 South Grant Avenue. Registration begins at 10:45 a.m.

    We will offer tips, tools, and strategies about how to best keep your student supported and engaged over the summer months. And, there will be free give-aways—everything from t-shirts and fun baskets, to discounted and free summer camps.

    Free admission, childcare, and parking at the Library.

  • College Information Night - March 6

    Whetstone  School Counseling and I Know I Can invite all Whetstone High School students and families to attend a College Information Night on Wednesday, March 6th, 6-8pm in the Whetstone High School Auditorium. Class of 2020 students should definitely plan to attend!

    • Meet College Admissions representatives from Capital University, Columbus State Community College, Denison University, Ohio Dominican University, Ohio Wesleyan University, Otterbein University, and The Ohio State University. 
    • Sign-in for the event starts at 5:45pm and families can start visiting the college fair after they sign in. Families may also pre-register online

    The girls' soccer team will be playing Thursday October 11 (tomorrow) at Mapfre Stadium at 5:30pm vs Centennial.  Come out and support them in their quest to win a City Championship!

  • Senior College Application process

    Whetstone School Counselors and I Know I Can invite Senior families to attend a 90 minute meeting about the college application process. The meeting will be in the library from 5:30pm until 7pm, during Parent Teacher Conference night, Wednesday, Sept 26th .We have a lot of information to share, so please plan to attend.

  • Two ways to purchasing Homecoming Tickets

    The 2018 Whetstone High School Homecoming celebration is the week of Sep 17. The schedule is full of exciting events and activities and we look forward to seeing you there!

    Our theme this year is “Wish Upon A Star.” Students can make a wish and drop a contribution in the Whetstone Wishing Well at events throughout the week and during the Homecoming Dance. Dance attendees can also place a star on the Whetstone Wishing Wall. All Wishing Well proceeds will benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation. A Make-A-Wish/Whetstone High School fundraising site will go live this week where donations can be made online.
