  • Grace McAllister, Choral Director

    Grace McAllister is in her fifith year at Whetstone High School. Previous to Whetstone, Mrs. McAllister taught vocal music at Walnut Ridge High School and instrumental and vocal music at several CCS elementary schools. She is a 2013 graduate of Capital University, where she earned a Bachelor of Music in Music Education with a vocal emphasis. While at Capital, she traveled to South Africa, Oman, Florida, Colorado, and Cincinnati to compete in the World Choir Games with the Chapel Choir and the chamber ensemble, Philomel. She is also a member of Sigma Alpha Iota, the International Women's Music Fraternity, the Ohio Choral Directors Association, and serves as the District XV President-Elect for the Ohio Music Education Association. She is currently pursuing her Masters in Music Education from Ohio University.

    When she isn't teaching, Mrs. McAllister enjoys traveling, knitting, singing with the King Ave UMC Chancel Choir, and spending time with her husband Xavier, son Jack, cat Caramel, and dog Izzy.

    Mr. Chris Ray graduated from The Ohio State University in 2010 with a Bachelor’s in Theatre. He continued on to receive a Master’s in Drama Education (K-12) from The Ohio State University in 2012. During his time at OSU, he was able to learn rehearsal room approaches from the Royal Shakespeare Company as well as dramatic inquiry across the curriculum. He began his teaching career in Columbus City Schools at West High School. He spent six years as a Cowboy, developing a student-driven theatre program performing excellence in the performing arts. He has been at Whetstone for three years and is excited to continue to grow this incredible program in the Whetstone Academy of Performing Arts.
