In accordance with Ohio Revised Code Section 3313.16, the Board of Education will convene for a special meeting of the full Board, which will take place on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at 270 E. State St. Columbus, OH 43215 in the lower assembly room from 6-8 p.m. The board will move into a joint committee session that includes Academic & Facility Alignment and Equitable & Transparent Resource Management committees. The Equitable & Transparent Resource Management Committee meeting on August 13, 2025, has been canceled. Additionally, the Academic & Facility Alignment Committee meeting on August 14, 2025, has also been canceled. Members of both committees are encouraged to attend the joint committee meeting instead.The purpose of the meeting is to address a range of issues, including but not limited to:

The Columbus Board of Education will hold its regular business meeting Tuesday, August 5, 2025, beginning at 6 p.m. at South Administration Building (3700 S. High St).

The Board of Education will move into executive session at the beginning of the meeting, pursuant to Ohio Revised Code Section 121.22(G)(1). To consider the appointment, employment, dismissal, discipline, promotion, demotion, or compensation of a public employee or official, or the investigation of charges or complaints against a public employee, official, licensee, or regulated individual, unless the public employee, official, licensee, or regulated individual requests a public hearing and pursuant to Ohio Revised Code 121.12 (G)(3) Conferences with an attorney for the public body concerning disputes involving the public body that are the subject of pending or imminent court action.

The Board will also move into executive session at the conclusion of the meeting pursuant to Ohio Revised Code Section 121.22 (G)(4) preparing for, conducting, or reviewing negotiations or bargaining sessions with public employees concerning their compensation or other terms and conditions of their employment.

Office Hours: Before the business meeting, the Board will have Office Hours from 5:15 to 5:45 p.m., allowing community members to meet with Board members one-on-one to ask questions and share their thoughts or concerns.

Public Comment: Individuals who wish to provide public comment during the meeting will have the option of addressing the Board in person or by telephone. All attendees for office hours or regular board business meetings will be required to enter through the walk-through screening detectors located on the west end of the building through the north-side facing doors. The District reserves the right to inspect all items entering its facilities.

The Board of Education will conduct a special joint committee session for a two-day training on Student Outcomes Focused Governance (SOFG). This two-day training is an important opportunity for us to learn together and strengthen our commitment to student-centered outcomes.
