    What is the CCS Long-Term Technology Planning Task Force?

    At the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, when the District shifted to virtual learning, CCS administrators and teachers came together under the realization of several truths and realities involved with learning in the 21st century. The commitee sought to define goals of this rapidly changing learning environment:

    • Empowering students and staff with flexible learning environments.
    • Personalize student learning through a blended learning environment with a focus on college and career readiness.
    • Personalizing education with equitable access to technology resources
    • Increased communication and collaboration among students, families, and teachers.

    The committee identified two stakeholders: the CCS student, and the community at large. For each, the realities of 21st century learning mean the following:

    Increase knowledge and critical thinking Create a blended classroom of digital and traditional learning
    Increase communication and collaboration across our schools Address inequities in students' access to technology
    Provide a jumpstart for college and maximize personal success Increase student engagement and achievement
    Provide an environment for fostering imagination, invention, and innovation Tap student creativity, allowing them to produce a variety of work that demonstrate understanding and preparedness for the future

    With these realities in mind, the Long Term Technology Planning Task Force will seek to address what is needed to achieve these educational goals:

    • A robust district-wide infrastructure that enables equitable access to technology.
    • Devices that are durable, adaptable, and support blended teaching and learning.
    • Increased access to the internet to enable online learning opportunities beyond the bell.
    • Targeted and meaningful professional development for teachers and staff.
    • Enhanced learning spaces that provide purposeful instructional design that drive learning through technology.
    • Experiences-enabled learning throgh collaboration among students and teachers with a balance of face-to-face and interactive digital opportunities.
