Board of Education Hears Presentations From Student Ambassador Program
Feb. 6, 2020 -- As part of a new initiative introduced by Dr. Talisa Dixon during her reports to the Columbus Board of Education, student ambassadors presented to the board at their regular business meeting on Tuesday, February 4.
Students from Columbus Downtown High School (Janiaya Wakeel, Aminata Sall) and Walnut Ridge High School (Fatimata Cisse, Darrin Newell) delivered a presentation about happenings at their school and various programs and successes therein.
Highlights from Wakeel and Sall's presentation included updates on CDHS' culinary program as well as IT manufacturing, public safety, and cosmetology. Meanwhile, Cisse and Newell spoke about the wide range of advanced placement course offerings at Walnut Ridge as well as athletic accomplishments and extracurriculars.
