The federal government provides the best financial aid available. By filling out the FAFSA, you will find out what you qualify for. You may qualify for grants, which you don’t need to repay. If you qualify for loans, federal loans have lower interest rates and you don't start repaying until you graduate. The FAFSA is also the key to unlocking state financial aid.
Did you know that you can apply for financial aid if you are going to school for a trade? Every year many Ohio students who complete the FAFSA form get funding for career training.
If you have not been accepted to a college or university, you should still complete the form.Completing the form can help you decide which college makes the most sense based on the resources available.
Even if you have a plan to pay for college, you should still complete the FAFSA form. You may have access to grants that do not need to be repaid.
To be considered for federal student aid for the 2021–22 award year, you must complete the FAFSA form by June 30, 2022. Don’t wait until the last minute. The form is free, and it could save you thousands of dollars.
