The Columbus Board of Education’s regular business meeting will begin at 6:00 p.m. at Marion-Franklin High School (1265 Koebel Rd).

The Columbus Board of Education will hold regular office hours before all regular business meetings from 5:15 to 5:45 p.m. The office hours will allow community members to meet with Board members one-on-one, ask questions, and share their thoughts and concerns.
Meeting Agenda Topics
The meeting agenda topics include:
12.2 - Supporting Whole-Child Focused and Strong Learning Communities in Every Region, the Board will be asked to authorize the administration to enter into a purchase of service agreement with Transfr Inc. Transfr is the sole provider of the proprietary Transfr Virtual Training Facility and Career Exploration Facility for the set of hands-on, simulation-based training skills. Students will receive one-on-one guidance from a digital coach in a job-training simulation that provides engaging, hands-on training to acquire the skills needed to obtain a job.
13.1 - Supporting Authentic Engagement, the Board will be asked to authorize the administration to continue the agreement with PowerSchool Group, LLC, for the District's data warehouse and analytics dashboard display along with cloud migration support services through June 30, 2025. The district has been utilizing the PowerSchool data warehouse services and business intelligence software to collect student and employee data since 2006. Implementation of visualization and analytics tools was added in 2020 to provide a real-time dashboard display of predictive analytics to identify at-risk students and assist in creating a successful pathway for individual student college and career readiness.
14.2 - Supporting Equitable Opportunities for All, the Board will be asked to authorize the administration to purchase roof repairs from Prodigy Building Solutions, LLC at Independence High School. Consistent with Board Policy 6440 - Cooperative Purchasing, the Board of Education recognizes the advantages of centralized purchasing and encourages the administration to seek advantages in savings that may accrue to this District through joint agreements for the purchase of supplies, equipment, or services.
17.4 - Supporting Equitable Opportunities for All and Strong Learning Communities in Every Region, the Board will be asked to approve the contract with Johnson-Laux Construction Ohio, LLC. The Scottwood Elementary School Renovation project entails renovations throughout the interiors of the facility, focused on the classroom environments, and includes replacement or significant improvements to the flooring, ceilings, walls, painting, and casework.
17.5 - Supporting Equitable Opportunities for All and Strong Learning Communities in Every Region, the Board will be asked to authorize the administration to purchase furnishings and services from Virco, Inc. There is the need for new furnishings to complete the interior renovations planned for Scottwood ES and Mifflin HS over the upcoming summer 2024 break. In addition, the furnishings at Westmoor MS and Ridgeview MS will also be upgraded over the upcoming summer 2024 break. Finally, as part of the ongoing lifecycle renewal initiative, a CCS catalog of approved classroom furnishings has been developed with input from district staff.
18.2 - Supporting Equitable Opportunities for All, Strong Learning, Communities in Every Region, Authentic Engagement, and Whole-Child Focused, the Board will be asked to authorize the administration to enter into a five-year (calendar year) agreement with Aon-Hewitt to provide employee benefits consulting services for the district. The Total Rewards area, in conjunction with the Purchasing Department, developed a core list of services desired in a Benefits Consultant. The Request for Qualifications was posted on the District’s website.

Any public participant wishing to make comments can address the Board in person or by telephone. To sign up, public participants must call to leave a voicemail with Customer Relations at 614-365-8888 or email customerrelations@columbus.k12.oh.us by 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 19. Speakers will need to provide their name, topic, and phone number.
