Meeting Agenda Topics

The meeting agenda topics include

4.2 - The Board will re-affirm their support of the Fair School Funding Plan and increasing the base cost inputs for fiscal year 2026 and 2027.

14.3 - Supporting Strong Learning Communities in Every Region, and Authentic Engagement, the Board will be asked to authorize the administration to enter into an agreement with Xtek Partners. This agreement provides camera installation services for 12 schools as identified in the Ohio K-12 School Safety Grant Award. The Office of Safety and Security monitors and maintains over 6,000 video cameras throughout the District. As a result of the ongoing district-wide security assessments and video camera standardization initiatives, services to repair, replace, and troubleshoot video camera systems are required to protect the health, welfare, and safety of families, students, staff, and visitors at CCS school property.

16.1 - Supporting Equitable Opportunities for All, and Authentic Engagement, the Board will be asked to authorize the administration to enter into an agreement with American Program Bureau. The initiative aims to provide diverse youth an engaging, enriching, and personalized learning experience by offering on-site led by authors, illustrators, and books for participants to take home. This program is designed to meet the target audience specific needs through a high-quality learning experience, and the activities mentioned are focused on achieving this goal.

16.3 - Supporting Equitable Opportunities for All, the Board will be asked to authorize the administration to enter into an agreement with the College Entrance Examination Board. Columbus City Schools’ high school students who are enrolled in AP courses may receive college credit upon attaining a score of three or higher on the AP exam.  The AP exam is offered to students who take the AP courses and is required to receive college credit.  It is expected that 1,004 students will take 1,280 exams in 20 different subject areas in May, 2025. To ensure equity and access throughout the district, it is imperative the district pays for the cost of the AP exam for every student who is enrolled in an AP course.  The cost of the exam should not act as a barrier for students.

16.4 - Supporting Equitable Opportunities for All, and Authentic Engagement, the Board will be asked to authorize the administration to enter into an agreement with Teacher Created Resources. This purchase will providence every 5th grade student and family with a customized Science Pack that includes a Mission Earth and Space Reader, Science Matters: Family Guide, Science Matters: Activity Book, Science Matters Journal, and Voyage to Mars Board Game. This resource pack is aligned to science standards and provides activities and experiences that will support and prepare students and families for the 5th Grade Science Ohio State Test.
