CCS Announces Two Additional New Principalships Ahead of 2023-24 School Year

New principals

August 21, 2023 -- Columbus City Schools is pleased to announce two new principalships ahead of the 2023-24 school year. These new leaders join a group of 11 new principals, previously announced.

Walnut Ridge High School

Michael Spellis will serve as the new principal of Walnut Ridge High School.

Spellis most recently worked as the 9th and 12th grade assistant principal at Walnut Ridge. He has a proven track record in instructional leadership and a dedication to fostering a nurturing and innovative learning environment. 

Spellis holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, and a Master of Arts in Educational Administration from The Ohio State University.

Ecole Kenwood French Immersion Elementary School

Levonda Kreitzburg will serve as the new interim principal of Ecole Kenwood French Immersion Elementary School.

Kreitzburg is a retired administrator with Columbus City Schools, who brings a wealth of experience and a passion for education. Most recently, Kreitzburg served as interim principal for Cranbrook Elementary School during the 2022-2023 school year.

Kreitzburg holds a Bachelor of Science in Education, and a Masters in Educational Leadership and Administration from The Ohio State University.
