Now through April 6, rising and current high school students and counselors are mapping out class schedules for the 2023-2024 school year in SchooLinks. The transition to the new online platform streamlines the course planning process for students and counselors. SchooLinks also lets students and families get a deeper understanding of how potential courses align with plans beyond high school.
When creating your course plans & course requests for next year, remember:

Graduation requirements for each subject

Do not change a required course that your counselor has already selected for you on your plan for next year. If you want to make a change, please meet with your school counselor to make the change together!

Questions about course planning for your rising or current high school students? Check out these frequently asked questions. If you have additional questions or concerns, you're encouraged to contact your school's counselor.

What is course planning?
Course planning is one of the most critical decisions your student will make while in high school. The courses students elect to study will guide them on the path to college, the military, or a work training program, and ultimately, the career of their choice.

How will students complete their course plans?
Students will work with their school counselors during classroom sessions as they are guided through this new process. Students should not submit plans until they have received this guidance.

What is the deadline for students to submit their 2023-2024 course selections?
Students must submit course selections in SchooLinks by April 6, 2023.

Will students automatically be assigned to courses if they miss the registration deadline?
Students who miss the deadline should meet with their school counselor for an alternate course request process.

Can students request schedule changes after their selections have been submitted?
Yes. Students can submit requests for course changes to their school counselor. However, requests not be approved due to schedule conflicts, staff changes and/or changes to course offerings.

Will students be enrolled in all the courses they select?
Every attempt will be made to schedule students into appropriate course requests. Requested courses may not be scheduled due to schedule conflicts, staff changes and/or changes to course offerings.

I recently submitted a School Choice application. Will my student’s course selections be reflected at their new school?
Their course requests will be reflected at their new school if that new school offers the same course(s).
