Title II-A for Nonpublic Schools
Private school teachers, principals, and other educational personnel are eligible to participate in Title IIA to provide for professional development allocated from the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce. Funds awarded to the State of Ohio and CCS under Title IIA are subject to the uniform provisions for Section 9501 of the ESEA. This statute requires CCS to provide private school children, their teachers, and other educational personnel with educational services on an equitable basis and in a timely manner.
WHAT TYPES OF ACTIVITIES DOES TITLE IIA FUNDING PROVIDE?
The professional development activities of each school vary by school based upon the needs assessment of each school. During the program development process, CCS works with each private school to identify the needs of teachers and students, what services can be offered, how services will be delivered, when services will be delivered, how results will be assessed, and how decisions are made about the delivery of services.
WHICH SCHOOLS CAN RECEIVE TITLE IIA FUNDING FROM CCS?
Nonpublic (private or parochial) schools located within Columbus city limits are entitled to receive Title IIA funding from CCS.
