Under the direction of the Chief Transformation Officer (CTO), the Area Superintendents are responsible for the oversight, professional development, implementation and evaluation of the effective instructional practices for each of the schools within their region. As part of the transformation plan for Columbus City Schools, the Superintendent divided all 109 schools into six regions to provide more efficient and effective support; the regions are mainly aligned geographically and by high school feeder pattern. Each Area superintendent works to implement and support the district’s vision, mission, and goals of Columbus City Schools. This new configuration provides the most effective line of communication between the Superintendent, Chief Transformation Officer and Principals.
