Fort Hayes Specials Bus Compound Wins The Healthiest Bus Compound Award
March 10, 2023 -- The Fort Hayes Special Bus Compound received the Healthiest Bus Compound Challenge winner for the third year in a row.
The Wellness Team celebrated their win with healthy snacks and a trophy.
“We are proud of the Fort Hayes Special Transportation staff for winning the Healthiest Bus Compound for the third year in a row,” said Jacqueline Broderick Patton, wellness initiative coordinator.
The award recognizes the District’s commitment to promoting the health and well-being of its employees by encouraging them to take their flu shots. This year, the Ft. Hayes Special Bus Compound had the highest percentage of employees who received their flu shots, earning them the award.
CCS has a longstanding policy of promoting its employees' and students' health and safety. This initiative extends to all aspects of the District, including its bus compounds.
“With bus drivers needing to pass a physical every year, it helps that the Wellness Team continue to work with the transportation staff to stay healthy,” said Lois Carson, president of the Columbus School Employees Association (CSEA)/Ohio Association of Public School Employees (OAPSE).
To encourage its employees to take their flu shots, CCS provides free flu shots to all employees. The District also provides educational resources on the importance of flu shots and the benefits of getting vaccinated.
The Fort Hayes Special Bus Compound staff have taken this message to heart, with a record number of employees receiving their flu shots this year.
The Healthiest Bus Compound Award is an important recognition of the school district's commitment to promoting the health and wellness of its employees. By encouraging employees to take their flu shots, CCS demonstrates its dedication to creating a healthy and safe work environment for all employees.
Congratulations!
