The Policy & Governance Committee of the Columbus City Schools Board of Education shall assist the Board in fulfilling its responsibility for the development and monitoring of compliance in support of our district goals, guardrails, strategic plan, and portrait of a graduate.

Board Policies are often predicated upon federal and state laws and regulations; it is important that they are periodically reviewed to ensure they are in compliance. The Governance, Policy & Advocacy Committee shall assist the Board by periodically reviewing its policies in light of such changes and making recommendations as to what, if any, actions should be taken as they relate to Board’s policies. The Committee’s role shall be advisory only. The elected Board serves as the decision-making body and is directly accountable to the citizens.
