Ohio has entered into a contract with American Institutes for Research (AIR) to provide testing for English/Language Arts and Mathematics. This year, all CCS students will take the tests online. On this page you will find the latest information to help prepare for the tests for grades 6-12 mathematics.Students will use Desmos calculator for online testing. The calculators found on Desmos.com are different from the calculator allowed during testing. Some features have been disabled on the testing calculator. Download this document for details. Therefore, students need to practice using the calculators at the links below prior to testing. Students should also take the practice tests on ODE's webpage.- Ohio Version of Desmos Scientific Calculator (grades 3-8)
- Ohio Version of Desmos Graphing Calculator (high school) Updated 2021

ODE allows Patty Paper (a type of tracing paper) to be used on state AIR tests. This paper can be helpful for students working on transformations and other geometry problems. Paper is being sent to each high school and middle school for practice and AIR testing.Click below for Formula Reference Sheets which also contain graph paper to be used during testing:

Download sample released items and explanations here.Documents combining the released items and sample tests can be found below. This can be helpful in determining the content standard that aligns with each problem as well as whether or not a calculator can be used on each problem.
From ODE:
Other States Online Tests Released Items - Below are other states with released online test items aligned to standards similar to Ohio’s Learning Standards for Mathematics. With the exception of PARCC, all these states use the vendor AIR. Teachers can use these tests for additional practice with the standards and for students to become familiar with the online test environment by showcasing the different item types, features, and functionality available to students during online testing. Since educators outside of Ohio approved these released test items, the items may not reflect the level of depth, conceptual understanding, or rigor of Ohio’s State Tests. Also, make sure you become familiar with the online calculator that Ohio uses (linked above). Some states may use different calculators.
Released AIR test questions from spring 2017
ODE provides online sample problems. Try all of them to become familiar with different computer enhanced testing items. Click the link below.ACT Support
