Social Studies Course Sites

Note: As course content is transitioned to the District Approved Curriculum course on Canvas, course sites will be archived. Elementary and Middle School course sites have been archived as of 7/1/2024.
Social Studies Course Sites provide lessons, strategies, and content resources aligned with Ohio's Learning Standards for each grade level and course. Course Sites are maintained on the district's G Suite server. To access Course Sites, you will first need to log in to Google with your CCS email address and password. If you get a "404" message, you are not logged in to CCS G Suite (you may be logged in with a personal account).

- CCS TCI Home Base - CCS has adopted TCI's History Alive!, Geography Alive!, Government Alive!, Econ Alive!, and Global Issues Alive! programs for core social studies courses in grades 6-12. This page provides resources for getting started, professional development, and grade-specific information.
- Current Events Article Analysis Organizer - Use this template to help students analyze source credibility, claims and evidence, and place current events into historical context. Click the Use Template blue button to make a copy of the Google Doc in your Drive.
- DBQ Online Home Base (for schools with DBQ Online subscriptions) - DBQ Online is a powerful tool for source analysis and evidence-based writing. The Home Base provides tools for getting started, along with support and PD options.
- Gamification - Gamification tools include the TCI lesson game and Gimkit Pro subscription.
- Intentional Planning Resources - This page includes an Intentional Planning Google Doc Template and a sample completed template to assist teachers with planning, building, and supplementing lessons.
- Interactive TCI Methods Guidebook - This resource includes downloadable resources for learning about each phase of the TCI Inquiry Approach and the Engagement Strategies.
- MTSS Pyramid for Secondary Social Studies - The graphic highlights the resources for Tier 1 instruction, along with Tiers 2 and 3 intervention support.
- Snapshot of a Successful Social Studies Classroom - This tool provides guidance for designing classroom learning spaces and learning activities.
- Social Studies Blended Learning Padlet of Padlets - A collection of online tools and resources for use in Blended Learning classrooms. Padlets include: Graphic Organizers, Choice Templates, Interactive Sites, Readings, and Video Resources.
- Social Studies Literacy and Language Support - A quarterly bulletin highlighting resources and strategies for meeting literacy and English language development.
