Ashland University
CCS Professional Learning and Licensure contracts with Ashland University-Columbus to offer a variety of one-semester hour courses (and one two-semester course) exclusively for certificated Columbus City Schools staff members (including full-time substitutes). Each of these tuition-free continuing education courses will enroll up to 25 people. Fee waivers are not needed to attend these courses.
Please note - Ashland University will assess a $50 no-show fee directly to students who enroll in a class and do not attend class without appropriate drop-out notification in writing to col-pds@ashland.edu 48 hours prior to the start of the class. Students will also be dropped from further classes.
No reminders are sent about classes so be sure to add the class information to your calendar when you register!
A listing of the courses and directions for registering may be found here: Ashland Courses 2022-23.

The Ohio State University
Columbus City Schools’ Division of Professional Learning & Licensure is once again partnering with The Ohio State University to offer CCS/OSU Outreach Courses during the fall semester. Courses are for certificated staff employed by Columbus City Schools with the exception of substitute teachers and substitute administrators.
Certificated employees who meet OSU’s requirements and enroll in a course will have all Instructional and General Fees (i.e., tuition) paid. Individuals will be responsible for any additional fees for materials (including online learning fees if applicable), applying to the OSU Graduate School (if not a prior student), and for the cost of OSU’s Tk20 online program (required for all endorsements).
Courses fill on a first-come-first-served basis. Fee Waivers are NOT needed for these courses. All course details may be found on the syllabi.
