Registering for the Lottery
The School Choice Lottery application process begins at the beginning of January for middle and high schools and in February for elementary schools, utilizing the new electronic paperless application process.
To access the School Choice Lottery, you will first need to log into the Infinite Campus Parent Portal. The School Choice Link located within the Parent Portal will allow you to submit your application(s), track waitlist numbers and accept or decline offers. If you need a user name/password reset and cannot remember the recovery email address you provided, please send a picture ID, your child's name and date of birth to parentportalaccess@columbus.k12.oh.us for assistance.If your child is not currently a CCS student, you must complete the online Speedy/Pass registration and schedule a virtual enrollment appointment. After your enrollment appointment, you will receive your Parent Portal access code to enable your account and submit a lottery application. If you need assistance completing the online registration or if you do not have access to the internet, please call 614-365-4011 to schedule an on-site appointment.

Request to Return to Home School
For students attending a school in Columbus City Schools that is not their school of address. The request will be available for submission beginning on January 4, 2023 and must be submitted via the School Choice link in the Infinite Campus Parent Portal by March 24, 2023.

Reservations
Reservation Admissions: For students who currently attend a school that is eligible to reserve a seat in the next school with the same programming. Reservation applications will be available on January 4, 2023 and must be submitted by January 31, 2023 via the School Choice link in the Infinite Campus Parent Portal.

Current CCS students who meet specific criteria will receive an invitation to submit a Selective Admissions application to the school for which they are eligible to apply. The Selective Admissions application will be available on January 9, 2023 for students who qualify and must be submitted via the School Choice link in the Infinite Campus Parent Portal by January 31, 2023. Lottery waitlists do not carry over from year to year. If your student was on a lottery waitlist for the 22-23 school year and did not receive a lottery offer by December 19, 2022, a new lottery application will need to be submitted for the 23-24 school year.If your child is not currently a CCS student, you must complete the online Speedy/Pass registration and schedule a virtual enrollment appointment. Lottery Deadlines
Lottery for 2023 - 24 School Year
If interested in submitting a lottery application for 2023-24 you must submit your School Choice Lottery Application by the deadline in order to be part of the lottery draw. Late lottery applications will be added to the applicable waitlist in the order they are received.
- High School & Middle School Lottery Applications: Accepted via the Parent Portal Wednesday, January 4, 2023 through Tuesday, February 28, 2023. The last date for the acceptance of late lottery applications for students who completed the 2022-23 school year with CCS is August 18, 2023. New students enrolling into Columbus City Schools can submit a lottery application for two weeks after their enrollment date until December 8, 2023.
- Elementary School Lottery Applications: Accepted via the Parent Portal Wednesday, February 1, 2023 through Friday, March 31, 2023. The last date for the acceptance of late lottery applications for students who completed the 2022-23 school year with CCS is August 18, 2023. New students enrolling into Columbus City Schools can submit a lottery application for two weeks after their enrollment date until December 8, 2023.
- Selective Admissions Applications: Applications available to eligible students Monday, January 9, 2023 with a submission deadline of Tuesday, January 31, 2023. Applications must be submitted via the Parent Portal.
- Request to Return to Homeschool Application: Accepted via the Parent Portal Wednesday, January 4, 2023 through Friday, March 24, 2023.
- Reservation: Accepted via the Parent Portal for eligible students from Wednesday, January 4, 2023 through Tuesday, January 31, 2023.
- ROTC: Accepted via the Parent Portal Wednesday, January 4 through Monday, February 20, 2023.
