The Columbus City Schools Board of Education approved Stanley Bahorek as the District’s new Treasurer/CFO effective August 1, 2014. Prior to accepting the position, Bahorek served as the Senior Public-Funds Adviser at Meeder Investment Management in Dublin, Ohio.
Bahorek holds a Bachelor’s Degree in marketing and a Master’s Degree in finance from The Ohio State University. He formerly served as the Treasurer/CFO of Worthington City Schools, Groveport Madison Local Schools, South-Western City Schools, and Norton City Schools. Altogether, Bahorek has more than 20 years of experience as a treasurer, and 10 years in the private sector. He is a graduate of Columbus City Schools' Whetstone High School.
The treasurer is the chief fiscal officer of the school district and is repsonsible for the financial affairs of the district. The treasurer reports directly to the board of education, the Office of the Treasurer/CFO for Columbus City Schools includes the functions of payroll, accounts receivable/payable, and financial record keeping and reporting.
