Kevin Saionzkowski, CPA, CFE

Kevin possesses over 32 years of experience as a government auditor and manager, working for the Ohio Auditor of State, the Ohio Attorney General, and at Columbus City Schools.  At the Auditor of State’s Office Kevin served most notably as the Chief Auditor of the Special Audit Section for approximately 15 years. During Kevin’s leadership, the Auditor of State’s Office issued over 100 fraud and investigative reports identifying over $34 million due back to state and local governments. The Auditor of State’s Office also received acclaim from the National State Auditors Association while Kevin was the Chief Auditor. Kevin has been a frequent presenter on various fraud examination topics at local, regional and statewide events. While at the Auditor of State’s Office Kevin also served as a financial auditor and engagement supervisor and in its Quality Assurance Section.

Kevin’s work experience also includes periods as a forensic accountant for the Ohio Attorney General’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation and in its Antitrust Section. Also while with the Ohio Attorney General’s Office Kevin held a director level management position with the Collections Enforcement Section.

Kevin started at Columbus City Schools in September 2017.  Kevin’s seven years at Columbus City Schools have all been with the district’s Office of Internal Audit where he’s served as Director of Special Reviews and presently as Executive Director of Specialty Audits.  In his position, Kevin plays an integral leadership role focusing on risk assessment and work plan development, engagement management and oversight, quality assurance activities, and fraud, waste, and abuse reporting management.  Kevin transformed the office’s use of technology by leading the successful implementation of the office’s audit management and electronic workpaper software application.

Kevin graduated cum laude with a Bachelor’s of Arts degree from Capital University in Bexley, Ohio. Kevin has been a licensed Certified Public Accountant since 1997 and Certified Fraud Examiner since 2007.
