Special Needs Preschool

  • The CCS Special Needs Preschool Program provides early intervention opportunities for children ages 3 - 5, who have special needs in one of the following developmental areas based on the state and federal guidelines:

    • Language
    • Cognition
    • Motor Skills
    • Adaptive Behavior
    • Social-emotional development

     



    Special Needs Preschool Curriculum

    The Special Needs Preschool Program curriculum aligns with the Early Learning Content Standards to provide quality early learning experiences in areas of English/language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies. Intervention services or Individualized Education Program (IEP) are tailored to meet the individual needs of the child.

    Related Services

    Children referred for preschool services receive a thorough evaluation prior to placement. This assessment is used to determine which, if any, related services are needed, including:

    • Occupational/Physical Therapy
    • Speech/Language Therapy
    • Orientation/Mobility Training
    • Transportation
